ABOUT FOUR WALL HOLIDAY
It all began from 2016 to 2019, when singer/songwriter Fly Prison created demos of instrumentals. These were over 25 tracks of material that started out as basic electronic songs, produced on a low performance computer. Eventually, Fly began experimenting, recording heavier tones to these initial demos, later on narrowing down to 12 tracks for a planned album. The 12 tracks now included edgy guitars, a duet of synth bass and electric bass combined, and eventually vocals were to be added. But a project name was missing. One day, Fly's mother wrote a song she asked he could record. After reading the lyrics, Fly came up with the song title “Four Wall Holiday”. The title latched onto him for so long that he decided to use it for the project.
In 2019, production began for Four Wall Holiday's first album. Fly built a home studio in a spare bedroom to self produce the album, where most of the recording, mixing and mastering happened. By 2021, a full length album of 12 tracks were finally completed along with vocals. Fly titled the debut album Connected To Nothing. To this day it is still Four Wall Holiday's darkest work as of yet. The album was released in December of 2022 on all major streaming platforms including iTunes and BandCamp. The album was reviewed by Underground'n'Proud and RoadieMetal in positive light for the industrial metal genre. The song “Fit” had radio play on Rock Addict Radio. A first batch of CD's were pressed for the album. Fly considers the first batch to be a collector's edition.
In 2023, production began on a second album. Fly wanted to go into a new direction but stick to the core sound and widen it. He experimented with more atmospheric sound, industrial beats and put more focus into melody and groove. Fly also sang with different styles on the next record, ranging from vocal fry and higher octaves to give it more variety. The overall focus was to create something universal and fun. By 2024, another 12 track album was complete, and Fly began teasing out the albums single on social media. This single would be known as Rabbit Hole. After Rabbit Hole released, Fly teased promotional content within the following week for the full album. On August 9th of 2024, the album Seasons From Another World was released.
During October of 2024, Fly released the original demo instrumentals from the debut album as a treat to his audience. The release is called Connected To Nothing More which includes all 12 tracks with no extra production on them except editing for streaming platforms. It was around this time that Fly hinted an idea for a novel to the brand was in the works. Throughout the rest of 2024, Fly was mostly quiet on social media and began writing on his novel.
Fly states that Four Wall Holiday isn't just a name. It is an expression in itself. It stands for an ”All Year ‘Round Four Wall Holiday", where we celebrate the worst that could possibly happen, sarcastically speaking. It is when it rains on our parade. When “Sh*t hits the fan”. When the chaos in our daily lives runs so mad we might as well celebrate it. We’ve all been there. And there are too many scenarios…what's your Four Wall Holiday?
